I've considered that for a while...but figured I would have to machine the receiver/post so as to limit the play. If it had any play in it at all, it would drive me crazy. I think set screws could lock it down...

I used it recently to move my heavy equipment when I moved into my new shop. It came is handy lifting band saws, air compressors, and even my mill & lathe. I've used it also for engine removal & installations.
My good friend Dwight and I built this gantry crane so I can move big items by myself out in the shop. It has an electric winch that's good for over 1,000lbs as well as a backup trolley for heavier items and adjusts from 7'-14' in height.
