Bought these years ago. Sold by the pound. So no package to tell you anything. No markings on them. Fella said very easy for any body to use. For people like me with no training and don’t weld much. Plus for rusty metal. Fella said they call them idiot rods. Fits me well. Hehe.
Any way any body got any ideas on what number they are. Or ever hear of such a rod.

hmmmm... I have these Messer 80T-AC PLUS rods that I inherited when I bought my Thunderbolt, they look a lot like the ones in your pic except for the yellow ends. They are indeed a "wonder" rod, I was very pleased with them, very easy to use on AC or DC and the welds came out looking beautiful, they looked more like MIG welds than SMAW. The tensile strength is like 80K and they fill gaps really easy too. Everything I could find about them people just raved over them except for some seasoned weldors who just scoffed at them. I still have a few lbs left. They are fairly pricey if I recall when I looked them up. Now that you reminded me about them I may fire up the Thunderbolt and run a few beads. Yours may be a similar "wonder" rod made by a different manufacturer. You can bend them into a "U" and weld around corners as well, yes I tried it and it worked.

back before the 80's there was a color coding system used on rods but there was never a yellow "end" color. There were yellow "spot" markings but the spot marks were not on the end, they were a little further up the rod.

They look a little too bright blue to be 80T AC's. I've been through MG training and don't remember anything with the yellow. Seems like I've seen something like this from Nassau Rockmount in the old days.

The flux bends with it? I've done that with 7018 and 6010 but the flux where the bend is just flakes off.

The only blue rod I can recall was a high nickel content rod for welding cast iron but they welded really crappy.
