Well hello there,
I hope this is the right sub forum for introducing myself. So as a lot of new welders ask what is the best welders to start out with and the answer is always one or the other. Buy what you can comfortably afford or get the cheap harbor Freight $100 special. Then when I tell them I am gong to get the $100 special I always hear don’t buy it it’s junk save your money and get a good one. Which I know is true. I would be cursing a lot and kicking my self for not saving my money and getting a good one. So I started working in a shop as a trailer tech and been taught (kinda ) how to weld which is welding broken mud flap brackets and ramp carriers etc. So it finally comes to buying a welder and I am looking in my Snap-on book and I see welders so this leads me down the path and through the woods at my research on Snap-on welders and I learn that they are made by systematic out of PA . They have been making them for 30 years or so. I did find out out that they use their on consumables that I have to order from them and my snap-on dealer. I can buy accessories that I can get that will use name brand consumables. But for now I will use the snap-on since I see my snappy dealer every Tuesday. So I see my snappy dealer this last week and ask him something about the welders and him being a slick salesman says I got one in stock. Which really surprised me. So he said I could get it and my weekly payment won’t change. My reply was really ? So this welder will do every thing I will ever need it to do even bot stitch. So that’s my story and sticking to it. LOL and yes I paid too darn much for it. But the weekly payment fits me good. And I will forever grow into my welder and not want to keep upgrading into something better.
