If there’s a low spot, or large pot hole that needs to be filled, back blading works well for adding material to the low spot.
If it is being repaired on a gravel roadway, I would add material to the hole back blade it, and add to any other low spots.( possibly drive over it a few times with the tractor to help compact the material) Then run the land plane down the whole roadway, and it will be very smooth.
