You might try the equipment rental yards. Here a year ago ,I needed a two foot bit for my auger. The local equipment rental had one . I rented it for a day, worked great and was twenty five dollars a day to rent. Just need to pick it up and return it.

I agree with Bearskinner. A wood stove is the only way to go , as long as you have a good source of wood. I have two wood stoves in my house and one in the shop. Always warm , here it gets pretty cold in the winter and snows.

Maybe build a new gate or something, two inch pipe will work well for that.

Another thing about garages, I find if you leave the doors open for any long period of time, the mouse will run in , then you shut the doors, and you have a mouse in your garage.

Try changing your tungsten to 1/6", then use .030 or .035 ER70 Mig wire for your filler rod. It"s what I use and it works good. Also you don"t need to much amperage as the Mig wire melts good at low amps. Most of my Tig welding is on thin material, 16 or 18 gauge.

I Think it might work ok for you, as long as you are welding thin metal at a lower setting. you will find out, breaker will trip. Also try touching the 12/3 cord after welding a bit,should not be too hot.

Hi Propane1 6013, at 40 amps won"t work to well. If you are on ac even worse. Mig is the way to go. Try .024 wire and move around on your work piece as to not have to much heat build up. Takes a while this way, but it works.

I agree with Piloon, Wear the right gear when you are welding. I wear my leathers anytime I'm welding, Mig, Stick or Tig ,I wear them. Caught myself on fire before and it is not fun. Try to get out of your clothes when their on fire and your skin is burning , no fun , let alone get to a fire...
