Got a 20lb bottle of CO2 for the fizzy water and Ignorance being bliss, that and the set-up video had it, thinking 0.035" wire.
Bought this for one job, might need a bigger bottle of the CO2.
Wondering if it is worth going with the Argon gas...
Any suggestions other than hire a good welder?
Cannot find one.

.035 is a bit big for 1.3mm, .030 would be a better choice. With as thin of material you are dealing with, with whichever wire you go with, you will want to stitch weld the material, a continuous bead will generate too much heat

Have been setting up for MIG but thinking maybe fluxcore would be better.
Doing welding to galvanized, of course it will be ground down, but outside.
Will the gas blow away?

If you can set up something as a wind block, you could give MIG a go outside, however due to welding galvanized, I would use fluxcore, so you can use a small fan to blow/draw the fumes away.

As long as you grind the galvanized coating far enough back so it doesn't off gas from the heat, that would be fine.

What kind of damage are you trying to fix on the boat trailer?

If you aren't completely removing the zinc coating, flux core will be your best choice when using a wire feeder process, regardless of inside or out. It is more forgiving to contaminates in the weld. MIG would just be full of porosity. Of course SMAW is always best when metal is dirty.
As always when using SMAW or FCAW, use good ventilation and stay upwind of the smoke.
NOTE: A clean weld surface will always get better results and be easier to weld than a dirty/contaminated one.
