Welding up yard art

I acquired a bucket full of horseshoes and railroad spikes ( all well used) started welding them together to create some color to the yard.

Painting old iron, metal cutouts, etc for fence decoration along the dog run.

Oh yes, welding up yard art is really fun.
I have a few around my place that always get nice revues.
My favorite is a 4 ft egret made from tin (well that was mostly soldered).
Couple of dogs from truck springs, birds from a shovel etc.
Some garden art can be found on web sites should U need inspiration.
One plus is U get to use up all that scrap you have horded.

LOL, I live at the end of a gravel bumpy road and always wanted to create a 'statue' of all the car parts that have fallen by the road side.
The city might take a hint.

I built this "Snowman" for my grandchildren several years ago,,
My daughter moves it out next to the road as part of their annual Christmas decorations,,
My granddaughter changes his mittens and hat pretty much weekly when it is out there,,

We have talked about painting it,, but, that would ruin the "old wheel" patina,,

Got an old pair of steel wheels, cut a stack of 2” angle iron and made iron Cleats to replicate old steel cleated wheels. Put them out along the sliding gate to my log yard. Just adds a little color to the yard.

That is neat hanging on a fence, doesnt create another item to weed eat around like it would if just stuck in the yard.
