I purchased (used) a 220v flux core welder by error. What brand 110/220 converter would y'all recommend for me? I do not have any 220 circuits available. Can this even be done (safely)?

I don't think what you want to do is feasible or possible and expect to weld with it. Probably need a 30 minimum- 50 preferred amp breaker to run 220 from your box which will take up two slots. If your out of slots to run a new circuit you can hire someone to install a sub panel and circuit. imo all your options may cost more than the welders worth.

With the machine being 240 only, you can't convert it to run on 120, however, you could combine two separate 120 circuits together and create one 240 outlet with something like this

However, it is a 240 20 amp outlet, which would likely allow to weld up to about 3/8's, though likely to blow one or both breakers with extended use.

The cheapest, best route, would be to have a 240 50 amp outlet installed close as possible to the main panel, and run an extension cord.

If your main panel has no available circuit breakers, you can install a couple of double circuit breakers to free up space.

There is the possibility to run it off generator if your welding time is very little.... Otherwise you will be better ahead to just run a proper 240 Volt circuit...
