So I'll just start with this.
Where should I go read up on how to know the weight limit of a given thickness of a steel square or rectangular tube?
Say for example for simplifying this visually. a tow trucks center beam that is pushed up by a cylinder(s)?
Typically they are 8 - 10 feet long i guess?
I am a$$uming here, logic would dictate that they would need to be over-engineered to handle the life span of a tow truck life span.
