I built a large 13 hp splitter years ago and it handles some crazy wood. Yesterday the push plate weld broke at the cylinder mount bracket. It's so thick that I am not sure what is the best rod to use to try to weld it. I plan to add some extra support with 3/16 2" flat stock. My welder is a Lincoln 225 AC and I normally use 1/8 6013 rod, I am thinking of using 6011 5/32.
