I would appreciate some comments and what your experience with this technology. I looking for input relative to a hobby welder welding sheet metal for antique tractors

I ran one at a show this last spring. Not nearly as fast as every video shows them. The one I looked at (just for fun) was 16K plus setup materials. Someday they will will be 5K and still out of reach for 50% of the fab shops and 90% of the rest of the guys.

I dont think that technology will ever be at a price point for hobby welders. There is and has been technology for many decades that work well for us. That is to say MIG and TIG gets the job done for 99.999% of the time. For the other .001% it is much more reasonable to take that work to a specialist.
Most of the novelty welding stuff has no place in the hobby shop but might be useful in space travel when we get to that point in evolution.

I like the novelty of laser rust removal system but that system is also very costly and for most items rust removal can be accomplished with evaporust or even white vinegar just as easily.
