    Drill Presses

I use these restaurant-size baking sheets under the machines that generate a lot of crud. They help a lot to keep things clean.

    Harbor Freight Jack Stands Recalled

Yes I saw that. I have a pair of jack stands that look exactly like the 3 ton versions bought about the same time from some other place. Probably the same thing.

    Plasma Table

Looks good. I made a similar table using 1x2 tube for the slats, they can be moved where needed. The box is an old side draft cutting table I found in a scrapyard. It does a very good job of collecting the plasma dust.

    2x72 Grinder

Yes I compared many belt grinders over a period of several months. Also looked at making my own from scratch. This outfit offered the best value and at a level of precision I could not approach.

    2x72 Grinder

Sorry I missed this question. If you google "the belt grinder" it will come right up. I found them easy to deal with, fast shipping, the grinder is top quality. And they have lots of options and accessories. Let me know if I can answer any questions.

    Cold cut saw?

Outstanding reply by CB. I have the Makita 1230 dry cut saw with 12" blade. It has a sturdy base and hinge, and an excellent clamp.

    Tilt Coupler for Small Backhoe

The general design is the same as larger tilt couplers made for excavators. The specific design is dictated by the B21 Kubota bucket ear dimensions. The pins are 25mm spaced about 6 1/2", the ears are 3" deep spaced about 4". The tilt pin is 1.25" in 1/4" wall steel tube. So the coupler is...

    Tilt Coupler for Small Backhoe

I made a hydraulic tilt coupler for my backhoe for landscaping. Tried to keep it compact and the weight down. It works fine. I'm not a very good welder but figured I did not have anything to lose by trying. There is nothing commercial available in this size range. The hinge pin is 1.25"...

    Tilt Bucket for my excavator

OK I will put them in a separate thread so as not to clutter up this one. For your tilt bucket can you put up a picture showing the cylinder mountings? Thx.

    Tilt Bucket for my excavator

Very nice work. I took a different approach, I made a tilt coupler for my backhoe that can be used with different buckets.

Anyone Fab up a quick hitch?

I made one from scratch for my B21. It uses small hydraulic cylinders to move the pins up and down rather than the rotating arms.

    Welding table

That is a very nice welding table. I made a multi purpose table for welding, plasma cutting, sawing, and drilling. I used an old side draft cutting table from a scrapyard. I don't have the space for a bunch of single purpose work stations. And the cutting table contains all the crud and...

    Grinder Stand

Import drill presses, old craftsman table saws, old rockwell wood shapers -- all dirt cheap on craigslist these days and an excellent source of sturdy work stands and the old US made electric motors are first rate.

    Grinder Stand

I got a cheap junk drill press off Craigslist to use as a grinder stand. It is solid, inexpensive, and can be set high enough for me to use without bending over.

    Drill Presses

About 90% of what I need to do can be done with a 70 year old Duro 1/2 press with a slow speed pulley giving 300 rpm. For heavy work I use a mag drill mounted over my cutting table.

    2x72 Grinder

These are popular with knife makers but I use it for everything. The grinder is from a company called Belt Grinder. The motor is a 2hp Leeson 1725rpm 3 phase. The controller is a KB electronics 27D. I mounted the grinder on a pivot using a 1" bolt, so it can be used upright or sideways. The...
