I always wondered, if you ran some glass bottles through a leaf mulcher,, then tilled in the broken glass where the tree was to be planted,, Would the broken glass deter the gophers?? That broken glass would stay RAZOR sharp for a LONG TIME!! The gophers would try to get past the broken...
