Check out water jet guys on Utube. They cut one in to & found a cavity that was filled with bondo. So - depends on how the casting went when it was poured. If they got a good pour your good. If they didn't you may have a bondo anvil.

A good way to fab a spare mount - use a plate with a piece of strap welded in the center. Slot the strap for a wedge shaped piece. Cut a circle that will slide over the strap, drop the wedge in the slot, & padlock thru a hole in the bottom of the wedge.

Check out the ESAB Savage A40 on Cyberweld. I use one & like it for $90 bucks. Like it better than the Miller digital elite @ $400 bucks. (Don't want to scratch that one, so I use it for TIG only)

From a web search - The chemical in the brake cleaner is Tetrachloroethylene. When this chemical is exposed with excessive heat and argon (used in MIG and TIG welding) it also produces phosgene. Phosgene is BAD stuff.

MM215 should have lift-arc function. Manual shows lift-arc remote position & in stick mode shows lift-arc non remote. Just touch the tungsten & lift to start the arc.

Different rods run better with higher voltages or lower voltages. Low tap = higher volts, high tap = lower volts for the same amperage. Travis Field (Fieldres on Utube) tries to explain it. I like to run 6010 low volts/high amps & 7018 high volts/low amps. High volts allow shorter arc length.
