Agree 100% no harm backing off the gas until you get porosity and then turn it up a few CFH. No sense wasting gas. Black is a base metal issue. I like your progress o far !

I did this once and was swamped with small welding projects. Mower decks, Trailer fenders, Tractor implements and a ton of bent stuff. I couldn't keep up and really didn't have the time in the 1st place. Post a sign and they will come !

We used to use the T-92's on argon tanks to hook up 2 separate regulators for Plasma Welding. Back in the day.

Any Gas in the bottles? The 350MP is a great welder. On E-Bay for 3K. Back then it was a 3K welder Add Spoolgun for $600, 625 is worth about $800 tops. Tanks and gas a expensive too. Wire and consumables are just a bonus. Not a Steal but condition makes a big difference too. New now @ 5K.

You have quite a project here. As far a tig goes, It might be a horse a piece on time and grinding. Tig will take a lot longer and will still have material to grind off.

The "T" you will want is part # T-92 might be able to find a used one. I have a couple of Victor dual flowmeters. Seem to work well.
